Our initial analysis of your responses
We received an amazing range of opinions in response to our consultation and were struck by the following common themes:
- drugs and alcohol;
- individualism, consumerism and a lack of community;
- inequality and poverty;
- a decline of values;
- the behaviour and treatment of young people.
These only give a flavour of the full analysis. A report to be published in Spring 2008 will cover the other areas that emerged in the consultation, including:
- gender issues;
- immigration and intolerance;
- politics and government;
- the media;
- crime;
- breakdown of the family and poor parenting;
- the environment.
